Overview 

The Line Cook plays a key role in creating exceptional culinary offerings for our guests at Sorso Lounge. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating dishes for our guests to help create an exceptional experience. You will be responsible for station cleanliness, food safety, and recipe consistency, ensuring our guests have a consistent experience each time. 

 

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Day to day food preparation following recipes and standards 
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines 
  • Workstation stocked, prepared and clean 
  • Following FIFO method to maximize freshness and reduce waste 
  • Properly receiving and storing of items in the back of house 
  • Assist in food inventory and control 
  • Ensure food prep areas, equipment and utensils are kept in accordance with food safety and hygiene guidelines 
  • Support fellow staff members with assistance if needed
  • Ability to be agile between areas of the business to support the team 
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including events and corporate bookings
  • Other duties as assigned or required 

 

Requirements

    • 1 – 2 years cooking experience in a high volume restaurant 
    • Post-secondary culinary diploma/degree is considered an asset 
    • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure 
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 
    • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs 
    • Excellent communication, time management, and organization 
    • Ability to stay flexible and eager to learn
    • A strong team player who isn’t afraid to show appreciation and give support to fellow staff members

Overview

The Bartender is responsible for creating exceptional guest service for all Sorso Lounge. You understand that hospitality and service go hand in hand and can work in a fast-paced environment. A beverage enthusiast who is passionate about spirits, beer and wine and can multitask. Knowledgeable about our food offerings as well to provide an exceptional experience. Responsible for ensuring we are following regulations as it relates to liquor service, maintaining all product levels, and cost controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of all food and beverage items to offer recommendations to our guests
  • Efficiently and accurately build beverages orders for serves and guests, in the venue
  • Provide exceptional guest service and take orders in a timely manner. Ensure guests are promptly taken care of
  • Take a great deal of pride in getting to know our guests
  • Understand TouchBistro technology to explain to guests how it works while waitlisted
  • Run food and beverages, supporting service where possible
  • Have a key understanding of bay service and maintenance to be able to serve guests
  • Ensure your area is always clean and presentable
  • Support fellow staff members with assistance if needed
  • Ability to be agile between areas of the business to support the team
  • Ability to work a variety of bartending/serving shifts, including events and corporate bookings
  • Greet guests at concierge if required and available to support
  • Bar maintenance & general cleanliness as required
  • Other duties as assigned or required

OVERVIEW

Knowledge of our food & beverage menu to be able to provide exceptional hospitality and sever to our guests.

Chef de Partie

Overview 

The Chef de Partie assists the Executive Chef in creating exceptional culinary offerings for our guests at Sorso Lounge. Leading the culinary team alongside the team, ensuring food preparation, plating, and food safety is being executed to standard. 

The Chef de Partie is also responsible for day-to-day operational duties including, preparing, cooking, and plating dishes for our guests to help create an exceptional experience. You will be responsible for supervising and role modeling station cleanliness, food safety, and recipe consistency ensuring our guests have a consistent experience each time. 

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

Role model and lead our mission and values 

Ensure the highest level of hospitality and guest service from all and yourself Supervise and help manage the day to day operations of the kitchen ensuring service, staffing levels, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are followed
